As you know, I am all about embracing retirement and finding passion through a camera lens.
In today’s video, I talk about how my photography journey has come full circle after nearly 40 years.
Finding Passion Through a Camera Lens
Back in 1979, I graduated with a degree in photojournalism.
During college, I specialized in pet portraits and also freelanced for local newspapers and even contributed to specialty magazines like Motocross and Karate.
Then life took an unexpected turn. I followed a different path into business and then technology.
The corporate world of America became my focus, and my creative passions were set aside for spreadsheets and strategy meetings.
It wasn’t until I left Corporate America behind and embraced retirement that I rediscovered my dormant passion for photography.
After years away from the craft, I picked up right where I left off.
What excites me most now is exploring creative techniques that break from traditional photography. The results are captivating, abstract interpretations of ordinary scenes.
What I’ve learned is that retirement gives us the precious gift of time to rediscover and fully embrace our passions.
Those creative sparks never truly disappear – they just wait patiently for the right moment to reignite.
Tell me, what similar creative pursuits are buried in your past? I would love to know.
