A Simple Stock Photography Workflow That Uses AI to Save You Time
Can a $35 point-and-shoot camera from 2009 really produce stock photos that sell? I decided to test it, and the results proved a simple truth: the photographer behind the camera matters far more than the gear in front of them. More importantly, I built a stock photography workflow that turns a slow, tedious task into something you can finish in under two hours.
Why AI Tools Change the Game
Most photographers avoid stock photography because writing titles, descriptions, and keywords for every image feels overwhelming. However, free AI tools eliminate that bottleneck completely. First, I edit my selected images in Lightroom Classic, adjusting highlights, blacks, and texture until each photo looks polished. Then, I upload a batch of images to Claude AI and ask it to generate a two-word title, a two-sentence description, and 49 comma-separated keywords for each one. As a result, what used to take hours now takes about 90 seconds.
From Editing to Upload in Minutes
Once the AI generates your content, the upload process moves quickly. I simply copy each title, description, and keyword set into Shutterstock and Adobe Stock, select the right categories, and submit. Consequently, I typically upload 10 to 12 images per site without spending an entire afternoon on it. Meanwhile, this workflow scales easily—so you can grow your portfolio steadily without sacrificing your free time.
Start Building Your Portfolio Today
Ultimately, building residual income through stock photography doesn’t require expensive gear or hours of manual data entry. Instead, it requires a repeatable system. So grab your camera, whatever it is, and start shooting. Then let AI handle the busywork while you focus on creating images people actually want to buy.
